In the old days this department used to be two separate departments: Typesetting set on Compugraphics and Paste-up done on light tables. With today's technology we are able to combine these two departments and output a single page layout complete with type and graphics on the computer using various programs. It will soon include stripping as well, since some aspects are already computerized, suchas trapping and imposition.
With our newest imagesetter, we are capable of outputing more film, faster. It is about 4-5 times faster than our old Linotronic.
Because of our ability to output 4/c film, we had to aquire a better proofing system. We used to use 3M's Color Key system, but now we use 3M's Matchprint III system.
In addition to our Arcus Plus Scanner, we now have a Nikon SuperCoolScan 35mm slide scanner.
