Well, with all the new advances in computer technology, this department is slowly combining with the electronic composition department. We have a 24" Brown camera (which hardly gets used anymore) with a 34" by 48 " copy board, that can reduce to 15% or enlarge to 300%. We shoot negative or positive film, stats, veloxes, line and screened PMT's.Halftone screens are available from 85 line to 175 line.
Most of the time, Halftones are scanned on our AGFA Arcus Plus scanner, and output at 2400dpi, which you can read about in the electronic composition section.
We have stripping facilities for single color, multi-color, and 4-color process work. Contact frames for spreads, chokes, trapping, contacting, duping, and combining of film components.
For proofing, we have Dylux (blueline), color keys, and now 3M Matchprint III.
Stoesser's Pin Register System is used to register film flats and plates.
