Paper is fed from the rolls into the printing units. The top sheet of paper has ink applied to it from the first two units, while the bottom sheet has ink applied to it from the last two units.

The top roll of paper has 4 colors applied to it as it passes through the first 4 units on the press. The bottom roll of paper bypasses the first 4 units of color and the fifth unit applies ink to the paper.
By having 5 "towers", we can print 5 colors on both sides of the paper. Because the press runs so fast, an "oven" is needed to dry the ink before it goes into the folder. And because the oven heats the paper, a "chiller" is needed to cool the paper. The maximum width of a roll for our press is 26". This allows us to run 8 page forms.
